NIN 95/24 - Fee Payments under the Securities Act and the Commodity Contract Act [NIN - Rescinded]

Published Date: 1995-06-23
Effective Date: 1995-06-22

The Securities Amendment Act (No. 1), 1995, S.B.C. 1995, c. 15 received Royal Assent on June 8, 1995. The Amendment Act is now in effect, retroactive to March 31, 1995. As a consequence of the Amendment Act, the Commission is now a government corporation rather than part of the government itself. See NIN#95/23.

Effective July 10, 1995 filing fees payable under the Securities Act and Commodity Contract Act should be made payable to the British Columbia Securities Commission. Issuers and their professional advisers should advise their accounts payable departments of this change. Any references, in policy statements and the fee checklist, to making cheques payable to the Minister of Finance should be read as making cheques payable to the British Columbia Securities Commission. Such references, and the Commissions fee checklists, will be amended in due course.

Filing fees filed before July 10, 1995 may be made payable to either the Minister of Finance or the British Columbia Securities Commission.

DATED at Vancouver, British Columbia, on June 22, 1995
