BCN 2001/73 - Exemption from cold calling restrictions for Registered Dealers [BCN - Rescinded]

Today the Commission has exempted all dealers registered with the Commission and the registered employees of those dealers from section 49(2) of the Securities Act.

Section 49(2) states that a person must not attend at any residence, or telephone from inside British Columbia to any residence inside or outside British Columbia, for the purpose of trading in a security or exchange contract.

The Commission retains the discretion to deny the use of this new exemption by, or to take other enforcement action against, any person that abuses this exemption.
