BCN 2004/43 - Delay in Implementing New British Columbia Securities Legislation [BCN - Lapsed]

Published Date: 2004-11-18
Rescinded Date: 2012-07-03
The British Columbia government has decided to delay proclamation of the Securities Act, S.B.C. 2004, c. 43. This means the current legislation, rules and other instruments will remain in force, and the rules, regulation, fee schedule, forms and guides we recently published (see BCNs 2004/32, 2004/33, 2004/34, 2004/36 and 2004/37) will not come into force this month as expected.

We acknowledge the significant efforts by many industry participants who have contributed to the development of the legislation and prepared for its implementation. We will work with the government on setting a new target date for implementation.

In the meantime, the Commission will continue to pursue our goal of making securities regulation more effective and less burdensome while operating under the current legislation.
