Effective June 13, 2008, the Commission and the other members of the Canadian Securities Administrators (the CSA or we) have adopted housekeeping amendments to National Instrument 55-102 System for Electronic Disclosure by Insiders (SEDI) and related forms.
Prior publications
We published for comment the proposed housekeeping amendments to NI 55-102 and related forms on December 7, 2007 (BCN 2007/39). On March 28, 2008, we published advance notice that, subject to government approval, we expected to adopt the housekeeping amendments to NI 55-102 and related forms effective June 13, 2008 (BCN 2008/19).
Substance and purpose of the Amendments to the Instrument
The housekeeping amendments to NI 55-102 and related forms fall into the following two broad categories:
- amendments to clarify some provisions
- amendments to streamline requirements
The CSA advance notice published on March 28, 2008 describes the principal changes to the national instrument and related forms resulting from these housekeeping amendments. It also provides background to the amendments and information about the comment process.
