On May 22, 2008, the BCSC did not object to the MFDA's proposed amendments to section 24.3 of its By-law No. 1. The Alberta Securities Commission, Saskatchewan Financial Services Commission, Manitoba Securities Commission, Ontario Securities Commission, New Brunswick Securities Commission and Nova Scotia Securities Commission have approved the amendments.

The amendments expand the circumstances in which the MFDA can bring applications against Members and Approved Persons who have acted inappropriately.

The BCSC published the amendments for comment on its website on October 27, 2006. The MFDA has summarized the comments it received on the proposal and provided responses. We attach a copy of the summary, together with a blacklined copy of the rule showing the changes made from the original rule.
