Substance and purpose of the proposed amendments
The Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA), except the Autorité des marchés financiers and the New Brunswick Securities Commission, are publishing for comment proposed amendments to:

  • National Instrument 41-101 General Prospectus Requirements
  • Form 41-101F1 Information Required in a Prospectus
  • Companion Policy 41-101CP General Prospectus Requirements
  • National Instrument 44-101 Short Form Prospectus Distributions
  • Form 44-101F1 Short Form Prospectus Distributions
  • Companion Policy 44-101CP Short Form Prospectus Distributions
  • National Instrument 44-102 Shelf Distributions

The attached CSA notice describes what we and other members of the CSA are proposing. The CSA notice also explains that the Autorité des marchés financiers and the New Brunswick Securities Commission intend to publish the proposed amendments, in French and English, during the first quarter of 2010.

The primary purpose of these changes is to accommodate the changeover to International Financial Reporting Standards. A small number of housekeeping changes are also being made.

The CSA notice describes where you can direct your comments relating to the proposed instruments.  We will consider all comments received by December 24, 2009.
